Moncler, established in 1952 by René Ramillon and André Vincent in a small mountain village in the suburbs of Grenoble, France, began by selling mountain climbing gear, including various types of clothing and tents. The name “Moncler” refers to the place of its founding, Monestier-de-Clermont.

The brand’s big break originated from the thermal sleeping bags they made for their staff, which would become the prototype for their famous down wear, later finding massive success worldwide. Their down apparel uses only the best quality white goose feathers and has passed the French standards association AFNOR’s most rigorous inspections, earning them the Quatre Flocon mark, a guarantee of the highest standard. The exceptional lightness and warmth are a result of the superior density and moisture retention of its feathered insulation, which traps layers of air inside.

Moncler grew significantly as a brand after introducing world-renowned alpinist Lionel Terray as technical advisor. He worked constantly to develop a down jacket with all the ideal qualities a mountain climber would desire in harsh, mountainous terrains. Then, starting with the Italian Karakoram Expedition in 1954, Moncler provided their down jackets to expeditions, including the French Makalu Expedition and the American Alaska Expedition, garnering great trust among alpinists.

Recently, in addition to its functionality, Moncler has expanded its lineup to include stylish apparel intended for everyday outdoor settings, further boosting its reputation. Moncler offers versatile down jackets with refined designs in varying sizes and styles, which have become essential winter items for celebrities. The Hermine is particularly popular among women for a fit that accommodates a slim figure and narrow waist.

Yes, we can often purchase such items.

Do items with the original box or accessories sell for more?

Yes. If you still have the box or accessories, you are more likely to be offered a higher price if you bring them. If the item is in good condition, you can still sell your items for high prices even if the above accessories are not included.

I received a higher selling price at another store.

We will do our best to meet your expectations, so please let us know how much the other company’s evaluation was.

Can I sell items at or above the retail price?

While some items can be sold at or above retail price, the value of most branded items tends to decrease over time. In many cases, if you no longer use the item, selling it as soon as possible is better to ensure a higher selling price.

Do selling prices vary from store to store?
